Thomas Maresh, owner of Sakora Studio, working on a laptop in a cute coffee shop

Hey there! I’m Thomas—a sushi-obsessed story-lover and owner of this indie studio. I’m so glad you’re here!

Since you’re reading this, I’m guessing you’re probably thinking about publishing a book or growing your business, or maybe you’re wondering what “Sakora” means. I suppose you might even be lost (sorry if that’s the case, but we’re chock-full of positive vibes, so stick around, yeah?). No matter what brought you here, you’re in the right place. We’re all about building your dreams while being kind to yourself. And maybe keeping it lively with coffee or vodka.

But really, espresso martinis on repeat, please. What’s the point of achieving your vision if you don’t let yourself enjoy it?

I’ve had an undeniable passion for the arts as long as I can remember. Although art wasn’t my true calling, I still wanted to be active in the artistic communities I love. That was the foundation for Sakora Studio: helping artists with the business side of their careers so they could focus on what they loved to create. In a strange twist of fate, I realized as I was building Sakora that I’m also really passionate about helping entrepreneurs (it might be that whole “seize the dream” vibe). That’s why I decided to reach out to both artists (authors, that includes you) and budding entrepreneurs to the skills they need in order to better reach their audience.

As for what “Sakora” means, it’s a secret to everybody. Just kidding, but it really isn’t a word (kinda sounds like “sakura”, the Japanese word for cherry blossom, but it’s not). I created it to embody the core values of what I’m trying to achieve here. It’s got a Japanese vibe (read: I’m totally obsessed) and a contemporary feel because I’m all about living in the moment. Since it’s not a cheeky play on words, it lends an air of trust and a sense that I care deeply about what I’m doing.

Does that sound carefully thought-out? That’s an important part of the branding process… and part of what I hope you’ll learn here. At it’s core, branding is about knowing yourself and your audience so well that you’re practically best friends—even though you haven’t met yet.

And even though we may not have met yet, I’m really looking forward to getting to know you!
